It's the little actions that sometime produce the biggest results
ya know??

I suggested to a newcomer yesterday that she thank her on again off again boyfriend for all his support and help the last few months.

She snorted and said "No WAY!"

When I insisted she try it, she grudgingly agreed to 'try'

she told me today at the nooner that he was overwhelmed by her telling him and the rest of the day they enjoyed each other's company comfortably and closely.

Sometimes good old fashioned common courtesy will take you a long way eh??

1. It's been said to me that
sometimes a small action at the right time can have a major impact. I guess that's one of those things.

I always have to ask myself what am I afraid of if I say that kind word?

am I afraid I'll lose something I think I've got?

or am I afraid I won't get something I think I need/deserve?

It's often amazing what comes up with those questions.

5. Right you are, AZDem.

A smile, " thank you" or praise given at the right time
can do wonders.

7. I was surprised to find recently that there have been actual studies about the results of...
expressions of gratitude and how even the littlest "thank you" can have seemingly disproportionate positive results. It never ever hurts to tell someone you appreciate them. Kudos for your suggestion!

9. welcome to A/R Pacifist!
I wouldn't be surprised. sometimes folks just need a reminder to be kind to each other. It can mean so much if you're having a bad day

8. So true.
I have been the recipient of a small gesture of kindness recently. My husband has been bringing me coffee in bed. Such a nice way to start the day. :)

11. I wish.
With little kids in the house it is difficult to express your, um, gratitude in a timely fashion ;)
