Or at least the people in it. I took a notion this morning to go to the early morning meeting at the local club (nicknamed "Church for Drunks"). As I got closer, my car began acting erratically - losing power, overheating. I barely made it into the parking lot as it started boiling over. I figured it just needed radiator fluid, so I let it cool down while I went to the meeting. Of course, the other members spotted me trying to pour water in the radiator - something like five guys offered to check it out.
Unfortunately, it was a little more serious: the water pump was dying. Three people followed me to make sure I didn't break down as I limped my wounded beast to the mechanic's (not open today, but I left it in the lot for him to work on tomorrow). And a couple gave me a ride home. We're talking going ten miles out of their way to deliver me to my front door, and offering to pick me up later if I needed another meeting.
Wow. Just wow. How many people do that for a relative stranger? I know the woman who drove me was planning on going out for breakfast with friends, but she put it on hold.
She gets a prominent place on my gratitude list.
