I heard from my brother today (sort of)

My brother's girlfriend sent me a private message via myspace. He is currently in jail for spitting on the face of his girlfriend. She is going to get a restraining order and he will soon be homeless. It breaks my heart that he is in this position. He isn't drinking but he will be soon as he is doing nothing to help himself. This disease does suck. 8 years sober on the 9th but still can't help him.

2. telling this woman I wouldn't take him in was so hard

but I am not equipt to help him and he would likely drag me down.

3. Dsc, take care of yourself-

this is one of the hardest things to go through.

My dad relapsed twice and I remember the helplessness
I felt- this was before I got sober, myself.

You can't help him unless he wants help.

That's the cold,hard fact that tears us to pieces
if we let it.

You aren't letting this happen.
You are are doing good.

I'll keep you, your brother, his GF and your family in
my thoughts and prayers.

I actually talked to him a few days ago and he is saying some of the right things but who knows. I am hoping for the best but not really expecting it.
