Well, I lasted 5 days...
removed myself from rehab because I lost my job. I guess when I was called the "c" word, bitch, body slammed, and spit upon, I was supposed to say "oh you poor babies, I cannot imagine what your lives are like at home". I called the little jerks upon their behavior. Didn't help I was the 3% of white persuasion in a gang infested school. The principal was always "the kids are right, the adults are wrong". Think I can get classified in the Guinness Book of World Records for pity parties?

This too shall pass. Fell off the wagon but will return. The s.o. is starting a day job tomorrow so he can be with me during my "witching hour". I am so excited about meetings...AA and all that stuff.

BTW, thank you all for the support. Need it now, will need it later :loveya:

1. On to bigger and better things!

I am sorry.

No one, no matter what the environment, should have to put up with verbal and physical abuse on the job. Sounds like the principal is doing nothing to make it a livable school for anyone, especially the kids.

I know you will find some meetings that will fit for you. I have faith that you will find another job, that is a far better situation for you.

:loveya:

3. five days in rehab?? so they detoxed you there?
if they did, and you aren't drinking hard again (yet) you can try stopping now at home with AA's support.

Just watch for bad headaches (blood pressure) and you may be OK

just don't drink this minute, this hour, this day. just today.

we'll help you deal with tomorrow when it comes.

and like KW said, do that and before you know it, the job will be better and your whole life will be better.

9. Laylah, you get back up in saddle

and try again.

It sounds like this is just what you are doing.

Like AZ and KW said, there are meetings out there for you
and YES! sugar is definitely your friend this month.

All that alcohol is converted sugar so eating it will help
with the cravings for alcohol.

btw;, I know a bit about the teacher abuse issue.

Even after eight years I still get to play "Sink the sub" with
little jerks who don't know me. They find out real fast that
this old lady " don't play that!". You need administrators who
will back you up, not some namby-pamby jellies who try to
please everyone.

Good luck, Laylah!

You are on the right track!

10. You are a dear!
This man definitely did not support the staff...we were always wrong, the kiddos were always the victims. I guess he wasn't man enough to handle it when I would start a conversation with "I respectfully disagree..."

All this sugar is going to turn me into a cow! A sober cow, but a cow nonetheless.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being with me on this hard journey :grouphug:

15. I have a story about one of the first AA meetings I went to.
There were a few people sitting around the table talking before it started, and as I walked into the room, they all laughed rather uproariously. I was skeptical about their sobriety because no one sober could possibly laugh THAT hard!

:D

don't drink

ya don't get drunk

it's that first one that gets ya!

go to meetings

read the literature

get a sponsor

make contact with a power greater than yourself

enjoy life on life's terms

oh and use the serenity prayer

did I mention don't drink?

you ARE a good support sweetie person. I say the Serenity Prayer A LOT. Working on getting my van running so I can go to meetings whenever I darned well please (currently one car "family" and he does have to work.). In the meantime, I am on again, off again, Finnegan, and pray every moment for relief. I will NOT die a drunk, I will NOT leave this world in this fashion, I will NOT drink today :loveya:
