nothing.

it's only money, I had a little to spare. I can never repay the gift the alcoholics in my life have given me. my life, my dignity, my serenity are all due to nameless alcoholics who gave me their time, their concern and their wisdom.

whenever I told them "I owe you so much, what can I do??" they all told me to pay it forward when I was better and sober.

so what small gift I made to you tonight is a mere drop in the bucket of what I owe to all those people who came before me.

so I tell you, when you are better and sober, you pay it forward to another suffering alcoholic when they reach out for help.
