We hooked back on on facebook, and he knew I was sober and he wants to sober up. He has been in and out of recovery, but it was really weird and really cool to talk to him after not having seen him in over 20 years.

1. Sounds very promising for him, KW, and potentially fufilling for you, since he |
|
sounds as if his heart is willing, and that means so much.

Some years ago my husband and I were at an AA convention and he saw an old friend across the room. When my husband and his friend caught up with each other it turned out that they were out bar hopping together on the night the other guy took his last drink. My husband had gotten sober a couple of years later, his friend had moved to another city before my husband got sober so they had never crossed paths in AA until that convention. It was a really cool meeting.
It is funny how people find each other out of the blue.
Best wishes for your friend getting sober.
