June 10, 1935 - Happy Birthday AA
Happy Birthday AA! I'm not pushing anything, I just realized that today was the birthday of the path that led me personally out of alcoholic darkness. Whatever works for anyone is a good thing! I refuse to bash or promote.

I am grateful for all I have learned when I loved AA; and all I have learned when I hated it. It's good to drink orange juice without the vodka and remember the rest of my day. It is good to have someone call me crazy for a drink once in a while and remember what that was like and tell her it doesn't have to be that way.

This is also the birthday of one of my best friends in sobriety who now lives in Tenn (I need to call her! :P), that's how I remeber AA's birthday every year, otherwise it would probably fall victim to my lost brain cells like so much else.

Have a wonderful late spring day all! B-) There is a lot worse in the world than the warm June sunshine!

1. Great post! This is the birthday of one of my best friends in recovery too -
Today is her 22nd year in recovery and I got to sit next to her at a meeting tonight and she offered to help me with my 4th step.

Imagine that on June 10, 1935 Dr. Bob and Bill sat down together for the first time. That's cool!

:hi:

2. Very interesting coincidence
A good friend of mine who I got sober with was born on June 10 (not 1935, LOL), it's how I always remember her birthday, she shares it with AA. She lives down in Tenn now, so I gave her a call tonight to wish her a god one.

We discussed staying sober through bad times and thanked our higher powers we don't have a Republican President now! ;-) She's been through the ringer, lost her job, health problems; but sober!

Stick with the lady with 22 years; she sounds like a winner! I have been blessed to know a few of those along the way and am grateful for them.

3. Happy Birthday, AA!
To the program that saved my life!

There are many paths to recovery,
this one worked for me.

One Day at a Time.
