Sorry guys...I screwed up again.
I hate to admit it, but I've been drinking beer since 7:00a.m. yesterday morning. I've been with friends on a camping trip and I've pretty much had about a case of beer. When I got back today after drinking for about 30 straight hours, I went to a friend's house and had a 24 ounce and then drank a 40 ounce malt liquor that had been in his fridge forever. Oh yeah, had a shot of Jagermeister in between.

I feel like I let everyone down and I'm not gonna post about quitting again until I've been sober at least a month. June 12, 2009...I'll try again, that's all I can promise.

I've been drunk since about 9am yesterday, it's now 6pm...the next day...still half drunk...WTF?

Now I lay me down to sleep.

get a bit impatient to get back on here.

Just remember that a guy who can think up a name like Stump deserves better. Be good to yourself.

3. You're the one who is hurt,Stump!

it hurts like hell to relapse and it's scary.

Been there, done that.

Break it down to the smallest increments of time.

If one day without drinking is overwhelming right now,

break it down to one hour,

whatever works for you.

We are here to support you.

4. Here is my problem...
I'll go say, a week with no issues. But when I fianlly cut it loose, it's always problem binge drinking. A party night without blacking out or throwing up the next morning is considered light for me.

My first goal is next week through the weekend...I'll keep ya' updated. Thanks for the encouragement guys!

5. I cruise without booze...
That's how I roll. Weekend is looking good. A buddy called me this week told me his wife is out of town for a week and wanted to get wasted. Told him I might come over sometime...but I didn't. It's getting clearer to me that I like being sober.

6. "I like being sober" :)
I like hearing that. I hope you keep feeling that way. I also hope my long-distance alcoholic friend is feeling that way today too. I worry about him, that's why I hang out here sometimes.

7. Alcoholics/Addicts always use again. Always.
It's what we are. You get over the self-blame (which is the disease itself, seeking another reason to use) in the Steps.

Remember, God either has all power or God does not. May you find God now!

Best...

8. Don't blame yourself - it does no good
Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and abstain from the next drink at your next opportunity. That's all you can really do.

9. Baby steps
You only have to quit a day or an hour at a time, not a month at a time. Those hours and days add up! There's more to live than worrying what the next binge will bring, and for folks who have an alcohol problem we don't know what it will bring, except it usually isn't good.

Best wishes. Take care of yourself, you deserve it.
