2. It's always good to be able to laugh at yourself, when you're under the cosh,
isn't it? I read this joke in the paper today. I hope no-one finds it offensive:

believe there is a nationality on this earth that is so manically poetically fanciful as you people. If you can use some highly imaginative metaphor to convey something, however ostensibly plain and simple, you will, and I have great fun reciting some of them to family and friends.
