cry for help.
My loneliness is killing me. Sometimes I drink and then provoke stupid arguments online in the dead of the night just to keep someone "talking" to me.

I know I need help, and in theory I know where to get it, but in my experience, showing vulnerability has rarely had good results for me. I'm scared.

I post this here because I think a lot of you have been there and I look up to all of you.

1. 'Showing vulnerability' in a meeting intended for such MIGHT help;
look for one?

2. Thank you. I know.
It MIGHT, right?

I've been on that pony before. Time to get back up, I guess.

4. Oh, yeah. I've been there.
I didn't start to get better until I openly admitted my vulnerability. It wasn't easy. I was terrified.

I'm still scared at times, but it's gotten so, so much easier.

Meetings and a strong support group help keep me centered.

I wish you well.

6. Is it possible that there's a women's group near you?
I belong to two women's AA groups, one that's been around forever and has a lot of long-time sobriety there. The women there were the first ones to reach out to me and many of them have become my friends. That's also where I found a sponsor and a lot of support. I lost my mother two months ago and women from AA came to support me and my sponsor stayed with me through the entire thing. It's out there, if you can find the right group... Let us know how you are.

10. Sorry you are feeling alone
It is hard to reach out when you are especially vulnerable and face being criticized or dismissed. Hold up!

11. Withy, I was where you are some time ago. I got into Adult Children of Alcoholics meetings,

later on AA and then Al Anon.

I urge you to give 12-Step groups a try. You can attend meetings and just sit and listen as
long as you want to. Share when you're ready. :pals:
