So, I think I'm going to join Jenny Craig
I need to get into a structured program; I like the idea of the convenience and I'm already spending too much money on eating out only to stay the same.

I'm going to call tomorrow and make an appointment. I'll keep you updated. :)

1. i used to work for Jenny Craig, a couple of tips---
the frozen food used to be good, hopefully they still have it and don't let them sell you any tpaes or dvd's, it's stuff you already know.

2. Ok, I joined today
Went through my food. Going to tweak it a little bit this week because I'm vegetarian and she sold me a couple of items that are "meatless" but not truely veg..so I made a note of which ones I won't be purchasing again (just 3), no problem.

Thanks, chimpsrsmarter for the tip. They didn't try to sell me anything like that today but could in the future. I passed on their supplements too, if I want supplements, I can buy my own.

I signed up for the 6-week program, which I think will be good. I think that this should take me close to my goal. There isn't a whole lot variety for me in the program, so I think I'll do good for 6 weeks, but after that, I'll have to evaluate. :)

4. I had a bad experience with Jenny Craig -- not the actual program.
I lost weight on the program but got tired of the food. This was back in the late 80s and I'm sure it has improved as most convenience foods have.

My bad experience was in signing up. I came in to join on one of the advertised specials. Apparently the special was just to get me in the door. The saleswoman pressured me into buying one of the more expensive plans by bringing me to tears, asking my how I think my husband feels about me looking the way I did, that if he didn't let me spend that kind of money, does he really love me, etc. I'm ashamed that I let her tactics work on me but my esteem was very low and she took advantage of it. Joining under those conditions affected my entire JC experience -- I was angry with them and myself and was successful in order to prove something, but those weren't the best reasons to lose weight.

Anyway, I realize that was one person at one location but it was bad enough for me that I will not give JC my business again.

5. Yikes
That's completely understandable..I'd be upset too. Thankfully my experience yesterday wasn't like that and I was able to sign up for the minimal program.
