I've been having success with this eating plan.
The thing is, the meals are set up for you in advance. All you have to do is follow them in 2 week cycles.

It's kind of strict for 2 weeks, then you have 2 weeks of not-so-strict (during which time I typically do Atkins or South Beach plus that's when I allow myself things I've been craving). Then back to 2 weeks of the strict part of the diet.

I don't know why--but it's really working for me and I was feeling crummy about not eating right, and not being able to lose weight.

There's no trick to it. It's high fiber, lots of veggies, and certain fruits, and lean meats. But having the plan laid out for me really keeps me focused.

So . . . I thought I'd share. There you have it.

Here's the website I have on everything, plus all the tips, etc:

1. Since May 10th, I'm down 20 pounds with this way of eating.
That works out to about 10 pounds per month, with some allowances in there for eating not-so-healthy once in a while.

Still, it seems to be working and I was starting to think my thyroid was slow and fighting me. But not so.

2. Wow, Lex that is FANTASTIC!!!!
A big congratulations to you on your overwhelming success! 20lbs! Whoopee!! I am going to read this website and try to learn more about this eating plan, and see if it may work for me. I tried Scarsdale many, many, many years ago, and I kinda think that I don't like too many of the things they allow on their plan. Like, I hate grapefruit, but I kinda remember that maybe they allow you to substitute canteloupe or watermelon? Anyway, thanks for sharing this with us and again-- CONGRATULATIONS!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

3. Yes, cantalope substitution works for me.
Plus, I have low carb/double fiber bread (from the grocery store), so I add a slice of bread in each day.

Lots of days I have a generously-sized mixed fruit salad with cottage cheese for lunch, then about 3pm I have an apple.

I've eaten lots of fresh fruits, lots of salads with tomatoes, and other various veggies, and fish and lean burger and cottage cheese. I also have fatfree creamer with my coffee. Anyway, I try to stick to the eating plan and just about have it memorized, but I allow myself substitutions to keep it interesting.

That board that I linked helped me a lot. The 2 week rotation on this and then less strict for 2 weeks seems to help keep my metabolism from slowing down.

4. That is awesome
20 pounds :applause: I don't think, for me, that that detailed a plan would work. Sure am glad it works for you though.

5. Well, I make my substitutions and tweaks and tailor it to me a little more
but I try to stick to it faithfully for the most part--mainly because if I do, it *works*! And that goes a long way in my book.
