Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 01:52 PM by Lex
but for me it was. The weekend before this one, I biked 6 miles and had no soreness or anything, which amazed me. I hadn't been on a bicycle in quite a long time before that. So going 8 miles was my next goal.

Over the last couple of years--started on Jan. 1 2006--through a combination of diet and exercise I've lost 60 pounds. Also, walking consistently outside around a local trail, sometimes very slow jogging on the treadmill, and now I've been adding in biking too.

I'd like to lose about 40 more over the next year to make it an even 100 and to be at a normal weight (by the charts, etc.).

So I guess I'm saying, it can be done. Don't get too discouraged. Give yourself a long time line if you have a lot to lose. It's been a long, long process. With more to go too.

:hi:

1. I miss my biking and trikking.....can't wait for spring again.
I've kept up on the daily walking outside through the winter so far, mainly because I absolutely hate the treadmill and stationary bike - just can't get into it. I built up to about 12 miles on the bike last summer - doesn't sound like much but that was a huge change for me.

I've sort of given up on watching the scale, it hasn't provided me with much of a positive feedback loop for all of the lifestyle changes I've made. I get both discouraged and impatient. I need to remember to take it slow and be kind to myself. Thanks for the reminder and congratulations on your success!. :hi:

3. Start where you are
and move forward. That's always a good plan.

Congratulations!
