1. I'm sorry but that information seems biased to me.
The comments about my procedure are six to 8 years old. The Lap-Band has been improved immensely since then. I've also read statistics that demonstrate a much higher success rate than is indicated for gastric banding.

I'm a member of a very active Lap-Band board and the incidences of complications are nowhere near what those comments indicate -- and people tend to complain on those boards more than they say, "I had another normal day." I've had my band for nearly five months and I've never vomited or gotten stuck. And frankly, anyone can find a way to regain the weight if he or she is not committed to keeping it off.

I realize that you are not intending to be argumentative, Kesha, and your post is a good reminder to do research if one is planning to have the surgery.

Here are some other comparisons:

It is my understanding that some practices specialize in one surgery or the other and I suspect that what they present to their patients are going to favor the surgery they provide! Fortunately, we represent two success stories!

2. No argument from me.
I posted that site as informational only. I would not expect anyone to look at that research and base their decision on only one webpage.

We are successful, we did our research. It took me a couple of years to figure out what was best for me. I know you didn't make your decision lightly either.
