Low fat and low carb dieting help...
Got the bad news about my health. Diabetic and all that. In addition I also have a cyst on my gallbladder. Eating anything high fat does me bad. I'm getting referred for that. I'm also mucho overweight. 218 lbs and I'm ready to lose, too.

I'm doing okay on the low carb and low fat stuff for the most part. I've found some great alternatives and giving up a lot of stuff hasn't been as difficult as I thought. Of course, it's still early and the urges could still hit. I'm taking that on like I did when I quit smoking.

I figured if I have a wide range of low carb low fat recipes I can handle it pretty well. So far I found some that have a lot of promise.

My issue is mostly breakfast and snacks. I love eggs and I'm looking at egg substitute like egg beaters. Also, I love snacks, too.

Any advice you have would be great.

doesn't work for diabetes. You have to control carbs because they spike blood sugar levels high, especially the "white" carbs like flour-based items, rice, and sugar.

and sometimes, low fat. For me that mostly means I stick to low fat protein sources like turkey and chicken breast and fresh fish.

Salad dressings are OK on the side to dip into, rather than poured over the salad.

You could eat things like lemon juice and herb rubs, rather than rely on heavy oils and fat for flavor.

If you can eat dairy, nonfat sugar free yogurt is a good snack.

Vinegar and pickles are great over all kinds of greens.
