Have you heard about it, yet? It is the French Adtkins diet. Dr. Pierre Dukan wrote the diet and it has been popular in France for about 20 years, according to what I have found out.
It has taken over UK and is now just hitting USA. He has a book on Amazon.com for about $13.50. I haven't bought the book yet, because I have googled all about it and feel comfortable about beginning it.
It is low fat, lean protein, no fat diary, eggs, chicken, fish, beef; you first go on the "attack" plan, depending on how many pounds you need to lose; then you go to the "cruise" plan, where you add veggies; you then alternate attack days with cruise days until you reach your desired weight.
It has been very easy for me, so far this week. No veggies or fruit, just lean protein (eggs, no fat cottage cheese, no fat yogurt, chicken breast, fish, beef); you can safely stay on the attack diet for 10 days, which I plan to do to lose perhaps 10 pounds!
I will then start the cruise part of the diet, adding veggies.
I need to lose 30-40 pounds!
This diet for me, so far, has been very easy for me to follow.
I hope I can stick with it to lose the pounds I need to lose.
Oh, forgot to tell you that you are supposed to walk for 20 minutes a day; I haven't done that yet; I still have had my glass of wine in the evening, which you are not supposed to have on the attack phase and I have still lost 7 pounds in 7 days!
So far I am finding this a wonderful diet. We'll see how I feel about it in a few weeks. LOL
Forgot to mention that, of course, you have to drink lots of water and also add oat bran to your yogurt or cottage cheese to keep "regular"; I also take lean turkey or ham lunch meat and wrap it around a low fat cheese stick for a snack; I've not been that hungry or starving on this diet!
