Getting so close...SOOOO close! |
|
When I started on this journey in October of last year I weighed 272 pounds. Today I weigh 201. My first goal was to hit 200 by January 1, 2012 and then proceed from there with a new goal for the next year.
My biggest defeats before came because I was overambitious. I always wanted to just lose 100 pounds like magic. Never really wanted to do the work but wanted the results.
Someone once said, 'food got me into this mess and it's going to get me out!' I completely agree with that statement.
We're cutting out sweets except for one muffin a week from the local vegan bakery (got to have a treat to look forward to) and cutting way back on sodium consumption. We're eating more whole grain products and paying more attention to food labels. We're using SparkPeople daily to log our food intake and using our treadmill to log our exercise. I've had a few bumps along the way but as long as I'm making progress toward my goal I'm not going to be upset about them.

You're doing great.
Bumps in the road are to be expected. Just get back on track. Kinda like what happens with the GPS when you make a wrong turn. You recalibrate and get back on course.

Today was weigh-in day.
I hit exactly 200. That's 72 pounds I said bye-bye to.
Bring on the next goal, baby, I'm ready for it!
