Anyone use therapy for weight loss?
Edited on Thu Dec-22-05 08:29 PM by Lost-in-FL
I about used everything (but surgery of course) to lose weight but no luck. I started going to therapy (2 visits so far) but I feel I am wasting my time. Am I? I am that desperate...

1. A friend of mine swears by hypnosis.
I don't know what she used but there's a page on hypnosis at caloriesperhour.com with some CD recommendations. I'm thinking about getting it -- they've got an online special through today. I figure, it can't hurt and it might help. Link: http://www.caloriesperhour.com/faqs_hypnosis.html

What else have you tried that hasn't worked for you and why?

2. a friend of mine who was in therapy found enough motivation to also take
herself to a weight reduction program and lost some 80+ pounds and has kept it off for a few years now.

3. I'm a firm believer in using therapy to accomplish weight loss
since in my case, my thinking and behaviors were a major part of my original weight gain. I focused on relaxation and ways to relieve anxiety. Also, in my case, I ate when I was angry, so I have found new ways to deal with anger. If you feel you're wasting your time with your therapist, talk to them about it, and if that doesn't help, go get another therapist.
