Where is it....?
There's a gallery of fashion do's and don't's on msn's front page for the "over 40 woman."
I can't seem to find the same fashion gallery for the over 40 man.

You know, the one that tells them how "inappropriate" it is to see the crack of their ass when they bend over to tie their shoes, because they feel younger by still wearing your pants size from twenty years ago.

Dude, that the whole comb over thing isn't fooling anyone. It would behoove you to kill the growths emanating from your ears and nostrils, it's really not sexy. Oh and maybe you should consider this great new supportive appliance that smooths away the appearance of those saggy man boobs. Get thee to a surgeon and suck away that beer gut, or at the very least wear dark colored tops and shirts, hey guys---it's slimming!

Until I see it, or something like it--fuck you msn and anyone else that thinks it's ok to single out women for these appearance based attacks, and endless lists of dress codes and appearance standards.

1. You made me look
I wasn't going to. All those outfits sucked more or less, although a couple would be ok, but the shoes? Ouch. However, ass crack is much, much worse. Can you imagine; Men, don't do wear this, your ass crack will show on MSN's front page?--with examples.

I agree with you. My daughter objects to the dress shirt and tie with jeans that's popular right with men right now. Nobody is having a sophisticated photo shoot that says essentially "hey if you're over 40, this look is going age you, BTW lose the ponytail--it makes you look creepy and while we're at it, Dude, that seventies revival look of open polyester shirts with gold chains--dude that GOTS to go"

But glad you saw what I was talking about.

I was also put off by the fact the many of the "don't" examples shown weren't necessarily women over 40. Also most of the same examples weren't current photos. The presumption is insulting. As if to say,"....hey ladies, we KNOW you want to put on those ripped jeans, mini-skirts and bright red lipstick--but just don't go there!" So patronizing.

There's tons of old ass, hairy dudes wearing sloppy clothes from fashion eras gone by, with questionable hygiene--yet no one calls them on it. But these "fashion folk" think it's perfectly acceptable to dredge up ancient fashion photos (of women under 40) and say,"....hey ladies, you're too old to pull this off, no one wants to look at your old ass--cover yourself up." :eyes:

:wtf:

The blanket presumption that no woman over 40 can pull off an "over the knee" skirt or dress is ridiculous, in my opinion. Who are they to say it's "inappropriate based on age"? Because only women under 40 have societal permission to "show their knees"?

When are they going to call out the dudes over 40 that jog without athletic supporters, in those itty, bitty, loose polyster/lycra, boxer style shorts. :scared: As if anyone wants to see that.....talk about a visual assault. :(
