Milan Baros is going to be sold, possibly today, to either Lyon or Aston Villa, who have now entered a bidding war. Lyon have bid 7.5M quid and Villa have promised, as a response, to improve their offer of 6.5M... Rafa has said he would sell for 7M.
It has been reported that with the Baros money, Liverpool will turn and buy Matthew Upson, the talented CB from Birmingham City for 6.2M.
In addition, the remaining transfer funds may be used to buy Michael Owen.

1. Is Upson faster than the guys you have now?
As I recall, that was your biggest problem last year.

3. Owen > Baros
Great pickup.

How do you see Cissé performing this year? I loved watching him in the CL last year, even when he wasn't all that productive.

4. amazing potential... but certainly should be played up front
Cisse and Owen up front would be my dream pairing (Newcastle are making the Owen thing interesting, aren't they!)
Morientes can slag off as far as I'm concerned... Owen with Cisse with Alsono and Gerrard threading in passes would be DEADLY.
If Rafa persists playing Cisse on the right, he will probably not have a good season... and Morientes should NOT play lone striker. Stop that now.

5. I just read... (re: Owen)
That Newcastle have made a bid of over 15 million pounds for Mikey. Real is also claiming that they have yet to receive a bid from Liverpool.

Owen, on the other hand, says he won't go to Newcastle on anything other than a year-long loan, so this is getting very interesting indeed.

stance...
But Liverpool are still in it.
