Saints to move to Los Angeles?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/blog/2005/05/25/BL2005052500711.html

"The bottom line, it seemed, was that Benson was doing his best to position himself to emerge as a big winner no matter what happens. He can keep the Saints in New Orleans if the team can get a new stadium. Or he can exercise an exit clause in the club's lease with the Louisiana Superdome and move the team, perhaps to the vacant Los Angeles market that the NFL so covets. Or he can sell the club, perhaps for the $1 billion that he said he already has been offered."

1. The New Orleans Time-Picayune reported San Antonio yesterday.

Mr. Benson has business ties there, with several car dealerships.

3. Maybe...
But they'll have the same problem the Rams had. There's too much else to do in LA. It's not like cold weather cities where you can't go anywhere in the winter.

All the sports teams in LA had attendance problems. Too many people who had moved to CA from somewhere else, bringing their old team loyalties with them. Whenever I went to Dodgers, Angels or Rams games, most of the people in the stands were rooting for the visitors.

(In fact, my ex & I went to one of the Angels games in the 80's so that she could root for the Yankees. Sort of odd, seeing that she was from Alabama.)
