Call me gullible, but I am currently sitting in one of the three most comfortable chairs in my house, and this one's new. My old rocker (my mom's, given to her when I was born) finally died a couple of years ago after long and noble service to several children, many baby-sitting hours, lots of study time and literally going around the world. (It was bought in Indiana in 1975, went to England in 1977, India in 1978, Singapore in late 78, came back to the US freight by early 1979 across the Pacific, then from Indiana again to Florida, then to Arizona, then it came to Colorado with me, where the multiple temperature changes and humidity differences finally caught up with it and it could no longer be repaired even by expert joiners.) I've missed having a rocker.
So when I saw this at Target:
for $30, I considered it. Worst case, after all, would that it would end up a camping chair since it CAN fold up and it's not really horribly heavy. (I know the website says it's $45, but it was $30 at my local store.) It also fit the decor of the den (red, black, grey and white) and it would be comfortable for watching movies or for reading. Best of all, all 260 pounds of my beloved can sit in it without feeling cramped, or without the chair collapsing under him.
I have no idea how long it will last, but as long as it makes it at least 3 months, I will feel I have gotten my money's worth. (we have a rule that furniture should last about a month per ten dollars spent upon it. If it exceeds that rule, we're happy.)
