So i bought a new washer and dryer a couple of months, my water bill has gone down
by about 25%, i'm pretty happy about that and i'm pissed about how much water i wasted for years using my old machine. I got my water bill bill yesterday and for once i actually smiled.

3. And you use less soap, too!
I got one because they could be stacked. We needed the space for a work sink. Now, I would only get a front loader for the reasons you mentioned.

4. if you get high efficiency appliances they help with the bill. mine
are a washer and dryer that combined cost about 50$ a year to run. :)

6. We just got new washer/dryer a few weeks ago...
...and I believe not only will our water bill be less, but we will use less electricity.
The clean clothes even smell and feel better.
We got a new electric kitchen stove last year, and even saved electricity with that.
The new stuff really is a lot more efficient.

7. I want a front loading washer
so badly. Just can't afford it right now. I keep watching for slightly used ones on craigslist.

8. We had a great dishwasher, lasted 19 years. We just bought a new one, and I can't believe the
difference in clean dishes -- plus uses less water and less soap. Next on to a new washer and dryer!
