Reusing gray water question....

Can anyone recommend laundry soap that will make our gray water from the washer garden safe?

1. We use a liquid detergent from Costco that has no perfumes or dyes

And all of the "green labeling" you would expect. I don't know if that is good enough.

2. Garden plants don't seem to object to anything from the washer

but I'd go with a scent free detergent, just in case.

3. We use an all natural detergent

available through our local food co-op that's made from goat's milk, of all things! Before that, we were using Seventh Generation. Our gray water goes straight to the septic tank so I can't use it for the garden but I bet I could if there was a way to collect it.

4. I actually saw a diagram of a system

for collecting gray water berfore it goes to the septic system.
