Water saver @ Costco
We bought a device for our toilets that has the 2 button flusher. It took BF 5 minutes to install (granted, he's handy) and works well. Would put on other toilet but it is from the 1930's and won't fit. Just another little gadget to help just a little bit!

1. Any link to this product? I'd love to try it if it would work for me
with my Circa 1970 fixtures. Installation is no problem. I'll tackle anything!
Thanks

There you go. They had some other water savers that I haven't tried yet.

3. Since I've lived in old buildings my whole adult life, I've always filled up a 2 liter bottle
with water and put it in the toilet tank. That saves 2 liters of water per flush. :hi:

4. Way to go
We bought a similar model from the Home Depot but when we got it home we discovered it did not come with the mechanism to replace the "flapper" and because of the shape of the tank it would not fit! So we took it back and just control our water manually.

It's a funny quirk of our toilet, perhaps, but the length of time you hold down the handle determines the amount of water per flush. So I just stuck with that method.

On the commode in our master bath it doesn't work that way so I thank you for suggesting Costco as a solution there.

7. Follow The Links
Amazon, Costco, etc. carry them, and surprisingly they only run $18 to $20.

Read about it on Amazon as there are over 200 reviews of the product.

CR hasn't tested it, but there is some feedback about in the CR Home and Garden blog.

I think I'm going to take a chance on it for $20.

Great thread.
