Recycling A Paper Shredder
I have a crosscut paper shredder, probably purchased around 2002. It finally bit the dust, and I'm making do with a freebie I got from freecycle

The dead one is a Fellowes brand, PS60CC, and I've checked with Fellowes online as well as two local listed authorized repair shops. It's discontinued, no parts made, no parts in the supply chain, nothing. Looks like the main gear off the motor has some teeth sheared off and it just spins and grinds.

Are there are shops, organizations, or individuals who scavenge small appliances and such to pluck parts in order to make it run again? Not looking to make money on this. Just trying to keep it out of the landfill.

These are some of the places I've researched about recycling it, but all to no avail.

1. Sorry I can't help you find the parts
But I just wanted to applaud your efforts to no longer be part of the throw-away society.

2. In my local freecycle group there's a member with an autistic
child who loves to tinker with non-working small appliances. She's always on the lookout for some. Possibly there's someone like this in your freecycle group. You could try offering it as such.

3. That is an amazing suggestion
Many thanks. There is actually a program in my kids' school district that teaches a fair number of autistic kids.
