it has not been 24 hours that I bought the laptop and as we turn on Keith Olberman's show tonight the TV goes fritzy

:heavysigh:

Luckily I have a nice TV repairman who lives 3 blocks away and he came by and said he can fix it for 1/3 what it would cost to replace but geez.......... seems like it's always the way huh?

:banghead:

1. Oh... yeah.
Glad you got the new computer (I have tech envy), and I'd offer you a TV but mine is surely broken -- all it gets is bad news and it keeps showing a funny looking chimpy kind of moron who can't talk....

But I think the "if it's not one thing, it's two things" atmosphere is everywhere this week.... We go to refill DH's prescriptions tonight and found out that our insurance dropped all three of them off of the preferred list so the co-pay tripled. On each. Ouch. It's sad that he gets heartburn and his triglycerides are in the wrong shape, just jeez, honey, ya think you could take meds that won't put us in debtors' prison? (Not that my meds are covered at all... *sigh*)

And UPS delivered my slipcovers to an address 70 miles away, and whoever got them must have decided she liked 'em, because they're having a hell of a time getting them back. (at least I must have good taste going for me??) So of COURSE both cats take it into their pointy little heads to start scratching the furniture.... I swear we're having filet o' Mutt and Siamese fricassee this week if they don't quit it. (This is new. They have never scratched furniture before, not in the many years we've had them. Beasts. Half the weight of a dog, and twice the neurosis....)

And I can't bloody find blankets for sale anywhere that don't cost an arm and a leg (at which point I wouldn't need blankets since I'd be dead of blood loss...). What do people think this is, June? It's freezing here every night and there are swim suits on display!

Paging Murphy... Murphy, table for one....

Glad you got the new computer (I have tech envy), and I'd offer you a TV but mine is surely broken -- all it gets is bad news!

3. thanks and sorry about your SO .. did you see in the C&B group that
someone had a natural remedy for the heartburn (papaya? maybe)

and have the slip covers found their way home yet?

we're still waiting on a call back from the TV guy but he said he'd try to get it back to us in a few days. it's hilarious to have a 13" sitting on a milk crate on the stand where usually a 43" sits.

Mr. K had it just sitting on the stand and I made him raise it up with a milk crate all the while he's grumbling "Could you make it look more trailer trashy? I just need to park a junker on blocks in the front yard to complete the picture. grumble grumble grumble"

I just laughed and told him to "Get over yourself already, geez!"

and what's with the blankets? dunno how shopping is in your town but maybe try Ross or Tuesday Morning? or Amazon since I know you don't "eBay" I actually ought to just ship you most of mine......

5. We have been down the natural remedy route....
He's got a minor malformation of the valve that closes off the stomach (we have pictures from a very expensive procedure!) and it's too minor to operate, so he's going to be on some form of meds for life. Doesn't matter what he eats or doesn't eat, as long as he ever lays down, he's gonna have reflux.

We're getting him switched though. His doc agreed that 180 bux every month is ridiculous for something so minor.

Slipcovers are still MIA. Dog knows if UPS will ever find them or if I will get my money back I'll call tomorrow to check on status. I ordered a second set from a company that ships USPS.

Tell Mr. K to sit on the floor close up, just like when he was a kid. Then you can come in and tell him not to sit so close. It'll be a reliving of your elementary school days. You want a black and white one to make the nostalgia complete?

Poor guy.

I finally found blankets (sort of.) I found yardage at the thrift store and I have batting, so I sewed it all together and I tufted it with embroidery floss. 3 hours work and I saved a lot.

Got rain yet?

2. Oh dear
It never fails. Things seem to break at the exact time when you least need the expense.

7. Hi, AZee. Hope you have more cash stashed. Things
(autos, household appliances, nifty gadgets) always go in threes. Or at least my dear husband (RIP) used to say that and it always seemed so in our little fambly.

9. My car always knows when I have money.
Picks that time to break down. Although this year it was the freakin' heat pump that broke and that was more expensive to fix than I could have believed!

Hope your TV gets fixed. If you were closer I would give you one of mine. We have a small one in the bedroom that probably hasn't been turned on in two years.
