Now they're talking our language. With hail storms fairly common in Colorado, this kind of solar is what we need. I wouldn't expect it to withstand a golf ball sized hail. But the small stuff seems lethal to the current solar technology.

When we renovated, we had to get rid of the floor furnace in the tiny cottage. We opted for electric baseboard heat (since it's on a slab with no crawl space and no attic - it has a a flat roof. Sometimes we call it "the bunker".) It's better electric technology than what was common in years past. But still, the electric bill shot up. If we could use this on that house, we'll be sitting pretty.

4. or at least as "off grid" as we can get. there are so many clever
ways to save and make energy these days.
