Website update: mogster's work + website assignments here:
mogster is making a new improved GREAT looking site! It should be up soon. I'll post a link so we can all peek when I get permission to do that.

Also: It would be great if we could pass out some contect hats.

Can you help collect

News

Resources for Survivors

Action Alerts

Images

Stories from the Gulf Coast

Links (to hook us up with other sites working these issues)

If you can put on one of these hats, please let me know in this thread. If you can't, any occasional contribution to these categories is much appreciated.

2. Please peek ;-)
http://www.boomdesign.no/ku/index.php

We need some material to 'fill it up' first (I'll do that if you post in the group), then we can move for some more permanent, dynamic stuff when we see how it is doing. I am running the January contest in the Photography group, so I need to keep an eye on that as well ;-)

But hey - I'm a multitasking person! :D

BTW: Happy new year, folks! I wish this year will improve upon your situation :-)

3. It is beautiful mogster, absolutely beautiful.
But please, Katrina did not just devastate Mississippi, parts of Louisiana and parts of Alabama are in our same boat. To leave them off of this site is to be as unfair as the media has been to MS, focusing only on the NOLA devastation.

I have other questions that I will pmail you.

As always my sweet friend, you have come through for us.

You are so good to me, I am so blessed. :loveya:

You are the best. :yourock:

4. merh, that's one of the things that is hard for us outsiders --

including folks who need to be included.

Any help or tips or feedback is so welcome and needed. We're pretty dumb out here and need some help. :(

Do you have suggestions in mind -- people or communities we can fold in? Remember, these mofos set so many fires, we're always playing catch up. You know that better than I do.

And, lol, I feel so much RELIEF that we have someone as skilled as mogster on the case. :toast:

Once we get our baby online, I will focus on networking, maybe some of us can.

Whatever we do is better than feeling helpless. We CAN get things done, we know that.

 my dear friend.

5. Thank you, merh
We'll make the changes needed to see to that. You know best who lives there. Should I change the text to just say 'Remember the Gulf Coast'? I think it's a good idea to bring in the rest of the Gulf Coast, btw. I suspect the 'Mississippi' part was Beth's extra concern for your situation, lol ;-)
Maybe we should try to make a damage map? I was thinking of a simple map with curves inland to show the degree of devastation in each area. To make it easier to see what damage Katrina did to the whole coast, I mean.

We'll see about building out the web later, but for now I suggest we just fill in the existing links to get something for people to see.

How's your internet connection? Do you have it in-house, or do you need to go somewhere to get online? :-)

6. The Gulf Coast would be the best way to refer to the damaged
areas.

I know that Mississippi reference is due to sfexpat2000's concern for my well being and I do appreciate that.

My internet connection is good, dial up in my femansion.

I do love the site, it looks great. Did you check your pmail, I was hoping you could give me a link to an old site we used to work in.

thanks mogster

12. I've changed the text
Apart from the text besides the Rebuild the Coast pic - this text snippet is the original from Grisham's site, and if we should change it, we should perhaps write something new altogether?

How about this fund, btw? Is it just for Mississippi, or is it for the whole coast?
If it is local for Mississippi only, we could perhaps find another in addition?
You decide ;-)

Glad to hear you are online @ home.

Now, check the ku site the first time it loads; is it slow over dial up?

Hugs!

The site really owes a lot to the great pictures by Jinnie Trabulsi, very good photos.
