Back to Biloxi
I think I'm to the point of narrowing down my date of departure. Sometime in May.

My brother and nephew are coming to visit in about 3 weeks. They are going to do some work on my little camper to get it roadworthy. It got beat up pretty bad after the hailstorm and little tornado.

My son has now offered to come up and pull the camper for me because my car probably couldn't.

May is the best time for him to get here. I hope I can get myself together by then. I'm going simplified, living out of the camper, because of the uncertainty of apartment and housing. My daughter is moving into an apartment down there this week or next week.

I will be needing to work, but I also plan to help and volunteer where I can. I have a goal of photographing all the areas of the gulf coast that were part of my memories of how it used to be. I want to find some way to keep the awareness up.

Any ideas will be appreciated. I also hope to meet some of you who live or travel there.

I'm going to put this in my journal to keep myself focused.

2. Hope you have a good trip.
Make sure you have bug dope, camera and a twisted sense of humor to get you through it. Post in when you can, take care there.

8. Hey SwampRat
I hope all is well with you.

I had a rough time on my first trip down Highway 90. Everything is so gone. I don't know if that is the worst or the fact I see mile after mile of debris and slabs and I can't remember what all used to be there. I took so much for granted.

10. yup. It is incredible.
We need so little stuff, have so much. What is important? A place to sleep, to store our stuff, to be out of the weather, to be with people we like and love, enough to eat. Goal is to get this and enough energy and time to be able to take time to be quiet, to create, to just be.

5. Okay, I made it
Just now got back online. Getting settled and still boggled by the things I see. It's good to be back with my kids again.

7. I'm doing well
Having an easy-going week so far. Just babysitting the grandson and getting my bearings. I'll start job hunting tomorrow. Today I'm on a picture taking spree. I'll post some later when I get home.

9. I took my Katrina overdue library books back yesterday
It was an emotional moment for me. I loved the old library in downtown Gulfport. It was a beautiful building. My ex-hubby and I used to park in the parking lot at night overlooking the gulf (when we were dating)and watch storms and lightning on the horizon while fogging up the windows. :P

The lady at the Biloxi branch where I turned in my books was very nice and gave me amnesty on the overdue fines. So the library has their "House of Bush, House of Saud" book back. Among others.
