2. Signs of the Times, poster by Michelle Levine, raising $ fro McDonald's Houses
Thank you intheflow. Those are great, good closeups and coloring. I'd heard a rumor that McD's had their mangled signs taken down quickly because they "looked bad" (told to me by someone who has never been down to the gulf coast but hates McDs) but I remember being impressed by this cultural icon's fluidity.

Here is aposter by Michelle Levine.

"Two-sided print benefitting the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

One side depicts one location with a single sign. The other side is the informative side showing all 40 arches and their locations and status at the time of printing. " Cost $30. McD Houses give families of sick kids a moderately inexpensive place to stay if their kids need medical help.

3. Looks like one of my McMangled signs made her poster.
I'm thinking the 3rd mangled sign from the left on the bottom row looks like the second shot I posted.

I think there's still one blown out sign still on Route 90 in Biloxi, but I might be wrong. Even though I drive Route 90 all the time, I have stopped noticing much of the damage, and really only notice now when some big ruin goes missing, or something new is built. (So far for new stuff I've only noticed expensive condos, one or two literal mansions, a Wendy's, and a couple Waffle Houses.)

4. They took down my favorite
It was off Popps Ferry...Cedar Lake exit? It was up for about a year but they took it down before I got a chance to photograph it. It might be the same as your second one, ItF, it looked like that. That is a cool photo with it lit up like that.

Here's the one by the Keesler gate in Biloxi.

It looks like your first pic from the other side.

I drove down the beach road today from Gulfport to Biloxi. Not much has changed. There is some rebuilding. The biggest thing to catch my eye today was the tearing down of Dillards at the Edgewater Mall. They are finally gutting it. The rest of the mall reopened but I guess Dillards couldn't recover. It was the store closest to the beach and storm surge. It was kind of traumatic to see. Like reopening an old wound.

I have pix on my phone but it won't download tonight.

Actually, I was cruising for Jim Cantore, who is supposed to be in the area for Hurricane Week on TWC. I wanna be one of those people-in-the-background goofballs. If you see someone drooling on his shoulder, that will be me.

I was gonna do that when they were down here before Katrina, but things turned a little serious and I got distracted.
