question about thank you notes

I actually work for an employment office, but I don't want to run this by my coworkers since no one knows I applied for a new job. I had an interview Friday. It was a panel interview with 6 people asking me questions. As it has been almost 2 years since I worked as an employment counselor, and technology changes trends quickly, I was looking for input on whether email thank yous are more accepted now, or if a mailed letter is still preferable (assuming time is not of the essence). Also, I am assuming I need to send a thank you to all six interwiewers, correct? Finally, it is a pretty casual work environment (2 of the interviewers were in jeans and sweatshirts and one was in scrubs), so i was thinking maybe a thank you card might be nice, as opposed to a formal-type letter.

What do y'all think?

1. My gut reaction is that...

...a short written letter might be best, or perhaps you could do both e-mail and a note (I realize that's a lot of work).

I'm not sure what the etiquette rule is these days, so I'll check on the web.

2. I'd strongly suggest

sending a quick, handwritten note to each of the interviewers. Nothing fancy, but that would send a very strong message that you are not only really interested in the position but that you possess manners, including consideration, and that you are willing to go beyond the "easy" work, which is what an emailed thank you would be. Some things never quite go out of style, and this is one of them.

3. Nothing beats

the personal touch of a handwritten thank you note in my opinion. Printed/typewritten is too formal. Email can be too impersonal. Both are cold in comparison.
