Any opinions about the company Primerica?
A neighbor who works there suggested that I give it a try. I know nothing about the company other than what I can read online, but I hoped for a more direct, personal assessment.

I don't know the neighbor well enough to really get into it with him, and he might be chasing a referral bonus or something, so his assessment might not be objective.

Any thoughts?

1. Been around about 20 years
I think mostly financial services. Is that what you are interested in?

3. Well, I'm in that field already.
I don't know whether I like it, but I'm pretty good at it, and if it's better than where I am then it might be worth a try.

Thanks for your response!

5. Thank you!
I've given my neighbor a sort of tepid "I'm not really looking to change jobs right now" answer, and this certainly gives me a good reason not to join his company.

Like many at DU, I'm not a big fan of groupthink, and this kind of "We Love The Company" drum-thumping makes me cringe.

I appreciate the info!

6. It really is MLM
Selling financial services is a big responsibilty if you don't want to hurt people. I don't think you will get the training and I question the quality of the instrument if large commissions are paid.

7. I've known several people who started with Primerrica
but migrated on to other companies once they had a better understanding of things such as commission structure and investment products, loads, etc.

Yes, it's all thosethings discussed above , and more- some are really successful there, like all MLMs, a couple really find it's their niche.
