Former President Ford Defends Rumsfeld, Who Was Chief Aide
By Josh White
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, April 22, 2006; Page A04

Former president Gerald R. Ford offered public praise yesterday for Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, criticizing a group of retired generals who have called for Rumsfeld's resignation.
Ford, in his letter, said he trusted Rumsfeld -- then the youngest defense secretary in U.S. history -- and admired his "creativity, vision and courage."

4. For those that haven't seen that bit on SNL -- the dog was
Edited on Sat Apr-22-06 10:26 PM by IChing
dead and stuffed,

President Ford(chevey) pulled the leash and the dog fell on it's side and he would say:

"good boy Liberty"....
the joke was that Ford was too stupid to realize that his dog had died and the white house staff had it stuffed.

the other person in the sketch was President Ford's real Press sec.

7. Well Gerry's like a hundred years old now, isn't he?
Always the safe and comfy one. I guess somebody somewhere thinks Rummy is comfy. There weren't any screams of anguish when Gerry said this, at least except for here. That tells you something about where this country really is mentally.

10. Yes, this is how desperate they are to prop up Rumsfeld
I know many people on both sides of the political fence that are still pissed about Ford and Nixon.

Get it?
Ford praises Rumsfeld and "Liberty" rolls over

11. The fact that Ford gets called "president" pretty much nullifies...
...the whole fucking system.

It's all bogus and a charade.

The whole damned enchilada.

No better than Pravda, wait, Pravda was more honest.

14. Ford was part of the 'fix' for those that murdered John Kennedy
He was the 'fix' that kept Nixon from jail. He is little more than a tool put in place by ignorant voters from Michigan in the late 60's. You know, the pro-Vietnam war, law and order people from western Michigan.

Ford is a slim-ball politico, on his knees, giving blow-jobs to wealthy corporate directors to get money.

Fuck him and the horse he rode in on.

15. I'm curious as to when Ford last made a public statement?
Edited on Sun Apr-23-06 02:21 AM by Bushy Being Born
It must've been a while ago? I guess I can believe him commenting on Rumsfeld by his own will since Rummy was his Secretary, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he was asked to do it.

He may not have been much of a President, but he was an honest and decent guy, and I respect him to this day - maybe more so because he never tried to use his situation to launch a public post-presidential career.

And by the way, if you want to fuck horses, like this foul-mouthed dork above, isn't that something you'd normally keep to yourself?

16. He was an ass-wipe
He didn't launch a post presidential career----big fucking deal

He launched Cheney's, Rumsfelds, and George H. W Bush careers

I say fuck him and the horse he rode on too.

17. If you want to say something to me
Edited on Sun Apr-23-06 10:29 AM by Jose Diablo
use the reply button on my post.

Edit: BTW, I took the test at Dork Quiz and I came out as:

If you answered mostly A's, you're probably the average Joe/Jane Schmo on the street. You tend to not attract too much attention to yourself by doing stupid stuff in front of other people. You're the kind of person who considers their actions before they happen, and you are a pretty good judge of what other people are thinking. In short, you're dull.

So why did you take this quiz if you already knew you were normal? Well, either you're a delusional nerd, or you have a persistent little fear that you'll someday be perceived as a dork. Reality check: we all do dumb stuff from time to time, so don't worry about it so much. Bizarre spontaneity is better than regimented normalness. It's kind of endearing.

So I'm not a "Dork". And if you took exception to my remarks about Ford, then that is your problem, not mine.
