carol lin (CNN) had JANE GOODALL on her program tonight.
Goodall was talking about her new program (ROOTS AND SHOOTS i think it is called but i am not sure).
Anyhow, she related the story of a kid in a poor section of the bronx (?) who sat in the back of the classroom, and always used the hood of his jacket to hide his face ... anyhow, goodall went there to make a presentation, then one day she received a letter from that kid, who, had seen an ad for KELLOGS using the picture of a smiling chimp. HE told goodall that he remembered that she had said that WHEN CHIMPS SMILE THEY ARE AFRAID...and she wrote back and told him yes, chimps are afraid when they smile ... so the kid wrote to kellogs many letters and they have taken that commercial off of their commercial route...goodall was praising the power that had been locked inside the kid which was now unlocked because he realized that he had a part to play on this planet. carol lin went on to make some idiotic comment about goodall's story and i muted the television and changed the channel.

ANYHOW, i could not help but think about how many times have we seen THE CHIMP SMILE...I MEAN, HE IS THE SMIRKING CHIMP...and darn,
the guy is so fearful and paranoid that he travels in black hawk helicopters, people are kept miles and miles away from him ... i mean, the mean man is afraid of his own shadow ... and to hear goodall say that about real chimps... the fact could not escape my mind that even in that smirking to hide the fear, the smirking unelected chimp, is like the real chimps.

2. I am not surprised with this revelation
I think it would definite;y explain why the idiot always has that infuriating, sickening and wholly inappropriate smirking smile. I don't go out of my way to watch the bastard but when I have had the unfortunate experience to see him, I have noticed his smirk, to the extent of pointing it out to friend and family. I believe that he has always been somewhat aware that he is WAY OVER HIS HEAD and it's obvious to anyone who not only understand vocal cues but body posture and facial expressions.

5. the monkey man is positively afraid which makes him an even smaller human
being than what he is, he is despicable and i don't see how it is that people can't see or don't want to see the bastard for who he reallyis.

3. a German saying has that it's a sign of having dropped one in your pants
of course that explanation is plausible as well...

4. yes, absolutely because
"dropping one in your pants" also happens when people are afraid.

7. I love Jane Goodall- she is so insightful
I remember an interview a few years ago - the subject was about the sexual habits of a female primate who was mating with a lot of different males... The male scientists had some evolutionary theory about how she is protecting her offspring by mating with all the males - they will all think her babies belong to themselves.

They asked Jane Goodall why she thought the female was mating with more than one male and she smiled and said "I think she's just having fun" :)
