Send a Message: What would you write on the ceiling of Congress?
Got any interesting messages to write on the ceiling of Congress?

It might seem like an odd place to leave a word for your elected representatives in the government. Consider where their attention is focused when they are in session:

Eyes focused on the ceiling of those hallowed halls, flat on their backs, ankles locked behind their heads, working hard for that corporate dollar. All the while the lobbyists and private corporations are grunting and thrusting.

I figure I'd like to write 'America is dying' and 'Thanks for nothing' up there.

Probably wouldn't do much, but it would nice to know they have their constituents on their minds every once in a while, when they're prostituting our hopes and freedoms to the special interest dollar.

1. Fuck You!
If I was ever actually confronted with the possibility of communicating with those scumbags, I don't think I could be very articulate.

I'd commission a painting...by a professional, top-notch artist.

The massive mural would be of our Founding Fathers--crying.

Maybe that would send a message.

19. Shame!
For allowing a President to spit on the Constitution. Congresspeople of BOTH parties should be concerned for their jobs/futures. He's destroyed checks & balances. He's stacked the Supreme Court and emasculated the Congress which he basically ignores, or uses only as a rubber stamp (declaring war on his own and also deciding which laws he will or won't obey, adding his arrogant little signing statements/codicils when he signs something Congress sends up to his desk).

22. There is this image I have seen someplace
It is of a flying woman angel, dressed in white silk/satin, standing with long gleaming sword held like she is about to strike. She has long coal-black hair. Behind her is a source of light, so she looks she is glowing as are the clouds surounding her.

It is like that sceene from "Silence of the Lambs", of that guard that was gutted and then suspended from the side of the cage that was used to contain Lector. He had hung sheets behind and on the dead guard and used the spot lights to backlight the sceen, to make the guard look like a angel with his arms spread like flying.

The avenging angel maybe? The People will avenge what these criminals have done.

The image would remind those that occupy those chambers as to who they are and their overall place in the Cosmos. Who it is that stands over them ready to strike them down if they begin to think it is they, themselves that are the power in this world.

Servicemen and women risk life and limb
to support and defend our Constitution.

Should the nation expect less from you??

-----------------------------------------------------

Duty
or
Complicity?

Choose

-----------------------------------------------------

"Fiat justitia, ruat coelum"

"Let justice be done, though the heavens fall
"

-----------------------------------------------------

Members of Congress have a sworn duty to take action to put an end to Bush and Cheney's treasonous exercise of unrestrained power.

Bush, Cheney, and their adherents believe they can continue to deceive the American people into surrendering their collective sovereignty by invoking their preposterous "theory" of a unitary authorization executive.

Fortunately, their cynical abuse of legal authority is easily exposed when we remember that the Constitution is a contract among ourselves that gives no party the contract the right to usurp or surrender our collective sovereignty.

Each day that members of Congress fail to carry out their sworn duty and demand Congressional action, George W. Bush can point to their failure to act as justification for his Un-American and Un-Constitutional claims to power (If his actions were violations wouldn't more members of Congress, who are sworn to act, be demanding Congressional action?)

By providing cover, every member of Congress who fails to act (and every Candidate who fails to take a position that affirms the duty they will take on as a member of congress) is aiding and abetting Bush's efforts to unilaterally override the will of the people, which is codified in the resolutions and laws enacted by Congress.

The Congressional oath is an INDIVIDUAL oath that demands each member to make a personal decision. The decision that faces each member (and those who seek to be members) right now is this: duty or complicity.

29. "what was your price to sell us out."
"how much free money did you just give to corporations today."
"war is a last resort."

Gosh, given the stupidity in that chamber,
instructions on how to tie one's shoes surely would
need printing up there as well, including basic
moral education like its not right to steal....

Its a bunch of pigs in there.. perhaps just a giant
flatscreen of a farm pigpen would be more comfortable
for them to gaze at.
