If you think most of the military is pro-bush...read this!
snip:
But some are furiously criticizing both, along with the military leadership, like the Army major in the Special Forces. "I believe that a large number of officers hate Rumsfeld as much as I do, and would like to see him go," he said.

"The Army, however, went gently into that good night of Iraq without saying a word," he added, summarizing conversations with other officers. "For that reason, most of us know that we have to share the burden of responsibility for this tragedy. And at the end of the day, it wasn't Rumsfeld who sent us to war, it was the president. Officers know better than anyone else that the buck stops at the top. I think we are too deep into this for Rumsfeld's resignation to mean much.

The debates are fueled by the desire to mete out blame for the situation in Iraq, a drawn-out war that has taken many military lives and has no clear end in sight. A midgrade officer who has served two tours in Iraq said a number of his cohorts were angered last month when Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said that "tactical errors, a thousand of them, I am sure," had been made in Iraq.

"We have not lost a single tactical engagement on the ground in Iraq," the officer said, noting that the definition of tactical missions is specific movements against an enemy target. "The mistakes have all been at the strategic and political levels."

1. Truth is our most powerful weapon.
"The mistakes have all been at the strategic and political levels."

Peace.

3. The Saddest Thing About All Of This, Is
that we keep hearing how it is us that undermines the troops. We all know that's bullshit. But what I think hurts them the most is how betrayed they've been by this leadership, and what I fear is that the damage is so great that our military men and women will have trouble trusting the commander in chief's decisions long after the shrub is gone. And I think that is incredibly sad and damaging. Our military needs to be able to trust their President. This president has betrayed that trust to such a degree that I'm certain its detrimental affects will linger.

5. You're right, they must feel very
betrayed. I think the worse part about that is they feel betrayed and they have to keep their mouthes shut, they aren't allowed to express their anger. Our military will be affected by this for generatins to come.

7. After Vietnam and then this...
Maybe the military needs to rethink this policy of silence. There has to be some way where they can remain apolitical, but not find themselves in this kind of situation.

The founding fathers never imagined a pres like bush who would use and abuse the military.

8. The Military is supposed
to be the servants of the people. If the people, congress and executive branch, decide on war for the protection of the country, or what ever, the military has taken an oath to serve us without question. Regardless of the way they are betrayed we can't have the military setting policy or questioning the authority. I remember when I was in the Navy in the 60's, if you opened your mouth and questioned the military it was a good way to end up in the brig.

The people, meaning you and I, have to hold the congress and the executive branch accountable for their actions. Remember it's a country OF the people, BY the people and FOR the people. We have to call our representatives and hold their feet to the fire and demand they answer the question of how OUR military is being betrayed. Then everyone has to vote, the future of this country lies in OUR hands.
