that pertains to "establishment Democrats' lack of imagination: They just don't want to bother with a new face."

Baron Hill (D) has served several terms as Congressman from Indiana - I voted for him. In the last election he was ousted by Mike Sodrel (R) - with the help of GOP millions (and election fraud is more likely than not). If you aren't acquainted with Sodrel, count yourself as lucky -- he was the guy sitting behind Jean Schmidt when she delivered her "cowards cut and run, but Marines never do" message to Murtha.

In any case...

At this time the Baron Hill election campaign is anemic while his competitor in the Dem primacy, Gretchen Clearwater, is gaining support all over the district. The Indiana State Democratic Party refused to put information about Gretchen on their website - they had decided to back Baron Hill very early on.

I expected Gretchen to take the lead here in my blue city, but expected her to gain no support from the surrounding red, red, red counties. I was wrong - she is gaining support from the counties including places like Clarksville where the Colgate plant is closing, moving jobs down to Tennessee (a-right-to-exploit-workers-state) and most to Mexico. Colgate's CEO, Reuben Mark, is paid an average of 47 million dollars a year for the past few years. Here is Gretchen talking with a Colgate worker:
