Because it's coming from an OPINION piece like this, I wasn't sure if there was a more concrete interview that I had missed somewhere. I just want some clarification.

8. If they build something
what about a tall fence with flowering vines?

Why the h*** has the issue of illegal immigration come up as such a crisis now? This is nothing to be political with, it needs to be carefully thought out. We have so much more to deal with at this time.

If they want to do something that will make a big difference they can start enforcing the rule they made in the 80's, fine employers $!0,000 if they have an undocumented worker. It's the jobs that people come for and who can blame them? Employers want to save the money that goes with legal employment, they are to blame if anyone is. If employers weren't hiring undocumented workers we would see what jobs citizens and legal immigrants "won't do" and then we can welcome more immigrants legally to do the work. They deserve to be legal and have the workplace protections that entails if we need them to work here. They should be welcomed and treated fairly.

Is a wall better than enforcing the damn law?

9. Carlos Mencia says that we can outsource the job to the Mexicans
Edited on Sun Apr-23-06 12:57 PM by notadmblnd
when the job is complete send them to the other side to admire their work and then close the gates.
But in all honesty I liked the solution that the immigration officer came up with in the movie "The Cone heads" which aired on the Comedy channel yesterday.

In the scene they were talking of why no one cares about the illegal immigrant problem but the official and his sidekick says something to the effect. When we deport them we could collar them electronically, bury, electronic sensors along the entire border and when they try to cross again, they'll spontaneously combust.

And no folks, I'm not offering these as serious solutions to the issue. I find them just as ridiculous as building a wall along the border. I just thought they were more creative and humorous.

11. Forget the wall. Build down, not up. Dig a ditch. A big, deep ditch.
Another ridiculous idea for your amusement.
