DOHA (Dow Jones)--Nigeria's oil production isn't that much lower than levels seen before the spate of attacks by militants on facilities in the oil-rich Niger Delta, the country's oil minister Edmund Daukoru said Saturday.

Daukoru, who is also president of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, said he's also confident that "in a week or two" another 120,000 barrels a day will come onstream.

"Contrary to what many people think, we're recently producing 2.3 million barrels a day," nearly at the pre- upheaval levels of just under 2.4 million barrels a day, he said.
