Whose country is this?

That would be one of my campaign slogans if I were running a campaign for anyone running for
Congress or the WH.

I would ask the voters to think on the following issues:

Energy - the energy policy for our nation was written by and for the leading corporations in the energy
industry. We have energy policy created to benefit the corporate big wigs and not the average citizen.
Whose country is this?

Health Care - the Medicare bill was written by and for the giant pharmacy companies. It is set up so that the
average citizen cannot seek cheaper medicine for themselves. Whose country is this?

Religion - no matter what you personal religious beliefs, we are now having our personal lifestyles and
our reproductive fate determined by right wing Christians. Whose country is this?

Take your pick of any policy issue, domestic or foreign, and ask the voters to realize the extent to which
our country has been sold to the highest corporate bidder.

In the last five years we have seen our democracy transformed for a government "of the people, by the people
and for the people", to one of a dictatorship set up to be a function of the corporation, by the corporation
and for the corporation.

Who owns this country?

1. These are good ideas
I hope you hear from the campaign staff of a candidate soon-they are missing a good thing not using your ideas!

2. Don't forget the Bankruptcy Bill and Tort Reform.

3. Ah, yes. Two of my favorites.

After the credit card companies wrote their legislation barring people from declaring bankruptcy over
credit card debt I tore up my credit cards. MBNA was a leader in that legislation and I had two
MBNA cards. No more.

"Government Of the PEOPLE, By the PEOPLE, For the PEOPLE"

and it comes from a Republican president, too! . . .

5. I believe the old adage: "big biz founded the country and is running it"
but this is old news...?
