"You can't refuse to shake the Senator's hand." - - - Bwahahahaha!
Here's a little story worth sharing re: the man-on-dog Senator from Pennsylvania.

Little (P)ricky and his entourage visited the business where an acquaintance I know works. It was basically a "what I've done for you" campaign photo-op show for Santorum.

Anyway, after he gave his little speech, he made the rounds with the executives. When he got to this guy I know, Santorum put out his hand and this guy refused to shake it. One of the Santorum entourage (body guards?)said, "You can't refuse to shake the Senator's hand." This guy replied, "Oh yes I can. As far as I know the Senator hasn't stolen that right from me...yet."

I MUST buy him a beer  :toast:

Well done sir. Well done!

11. Good for him
My mother refused to shake Gov. Rockefeller's hand back in the day. I can't remember exactly what she said to him, but I was proud that she did what she did.

Your friend is another true patriot. :patriot:

16. That reminds me of my class trip to D.C.
The Professor who went, wanted eveyone to stand for Scalia, I didn't want to, and I had a little fight with the professor over it. I ended up standing for the jerk, but I hung my head down in protest, which kinda pissed off the professor.

17. At the Phillies game last Thursday, Man on Dog was in the broadcast
booth and when the tv monitors in the ballyard showed him a lot of booing was heard. Three young ladies in their mid 20's standing next to me nearly flipped out and cursed the prick.

26. Sen. Ricky came to my place of business a few years ago.
We were all told it was important that we be polite to the jackass.

I spent the entire time he was in the building bunkered down in my office with the door closed (and I never closed my office door), and I refused to go to the little meeting where Senator Man-on-Dog spoke. I figured I could either stay away from Ricky and keep my job, or call him an asswipe to his face and lose it. Since an act of civil disobedience would have no impact whatsoever, I refrained.

Amusingly, the company's higher-ups thought that Santorum's presence would help the company drum up business. Of course, this was an idiotic presumption. The company wasn't a mover and shaker in the Republican fundraising world, and the company owners weren't big Republican donors, so the company got zip out of Santorum's handshaking-fest.

27. Tell him to look up Sir Walter Scott's _Marmion_ ...
I always think of this whenever I hear a story like this. _Marmion_ is a very long poem, and the only part of it I remember is that the king is staying with a nobleman who hates him, and the host refuses to shake the king's hand, saying:

"My castles are my king's alone,
From turret to foundation stone;
The hand of Douglas is his own."

Good for him. And the bodyguards, for chrissake! If getting snubbed is the worst thing that ever happens to Santorum on one of these meet n greets he can count himself lucky.

C ya,

The Plaid Adder
