The reason Osama's STILL a threat is because Bush took the forces out
of Afghanistan and sent them into Iraq. And now we're mired in Iraq and OBL's still out there, making his plans.

We need to keep pounding on this point. People forget.

1. Remember, he doesn't think about him anymore!
Yeah, don't think about the person responsible for over 3,000 deaths on American soil. But, attack a country that has no intention on during us harm.

2. No
the real reason is that Bush NEEDS an external threat to further his policies. He will never extinguish that threat - because to do so would cause a groundswell to end the war.....and that my friend is something he would never ever want to do. His oil cronies are swimming in profits - and that is the way they want to keep it going......for ever.

4. You're preaching to the choir. I'm talking about the argument to
use with our more conservative friends and neighbors who are finally turning against the war, and are still worried about OBL. We need to remind THEM that OBL is still a threat because we took our eyes off the ball.

I agree with you that Bush doesn't want to capture OBL, but that argument probably won't go very far outside of places like DU.

3. Yep, I was pissed when they pulled the Rangers out
They were just the types of troops we needed to get at Bin Laden.

The CIA men on the ground specifically asked for Rangers at Tora Bora...guess who didn't send them in? (check out Gary Berntsen's "Jawbreaker" book)
