How about Aaron Sorkin for President? Seriously, his folks are SO much
better informed about current events, consequences, and creative problem solving techniques, as well as the importance of give and take negotiations, and how to create the proverbial "win-win" situation that I get CHILLS and find myself nearly weeping that these characters aren't actually currently serving our country as they are SO MUCH BETTER than the folks who actually are "working" in the current white house....

I'm semi-serious. Anybody know anything about him? Is it time to DRAFT AARON SORKIN???

2. Draft him as in actually have him run for office? Hell no...
But, it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring him on as a consultant to your presidential campaign.

3. I think Sorkin is great - I thought the DNC should have tapped him to help
their spokepeople who appeared on all the tv shows during the 2002 and 2004 campaign cycles. They were so underinformed, it wasn't funny.

5. I'm just curious, am I the only one on DU who hates the West Wing
and Sorkin. I actually watch it for ironic enjoyment, but the show is so ludicrous, and the writing so lame and tedious ... not to mention heavy-handed. Has anybody seen the first episode after 9-11, Isaac and Ishmael? It must be one of the stupidest things ever put on paper. And apart from the false sentimentality and heavy-handedness, it's not even that liberal of a show. After the 1st season, they have more or less spouted the DLC line without fail. And even more absurdly, attempted to give it moral authority (as oppose to taking the tack of political pragmatism). Sorkin doesn't seem at all well-informed to me, and his dialogue reeks of pretension. And let's put aside his repeated bouts with plagiarism (i.e. Bartlett's rant to Dr. "Jenna" - a.k.a. Dr. Laura). Hell, the storylines are all plagiarized from current events. There is something seriously wrong with you if you didn't cringe with the whole "I voted for it before I voted against it" fiasco. They can't even reword? Someone help me out. Why do you all love it so much?

6. I adore Sorkin, but I think his past drug busts might hinder his campaign.
