if you put on the helmet keep your clothes on and watch out for the meter reader. :)

this year yes
my 2005 Jeep Liberty got creamed by 3 inch hail this morning on the way to work.

it is the first new vehicle ever in our 17 year marriage. Had 5 miles on it when we got it last year.

26. I hope you're doing well. The one thing I hated about living in Indiana
and Illinois were the damned tornado warnings. Scared the shit out of me. I didn't grow up with that kind of weather and it freaked me out.

Stay safe, please!

How about the humidity in the summer?

Sub-zero temperatures in the winter?

Any Kansas kid who played on the grass hates chiggers. Why did they have to bite there?

16. A bit south of you, we got some pretty nasty wx an hour ago,
dime-size hail lot of wind & heavy rain...just ran out & looked at the rain gage, almost an inch in 45 minutes...and now there's another line forming out around I-35 coming our way. Well we need the rain...

23. I saw baseball sized hail in Wichita today.
On MSNBC. I'm watching a beautiful sunset to the West, but turning my head to the South and my back door I can see clouds and a darkened sky.

Something wicked this way comes.....

21. Kansas native
Born in Junction City (actually in the Ft. Riley hospital). Don't remember much but I do have a cool scar on my foot from when a tornado took out our garage and I stepped on a nail during the rebuilding.

22. Just be prepared and stay calm. Odds of one hitting you are low.
I'm a native and have never even seen one. The weather can be scary, but just make sure you are prepared. This time of year I keep a backpack in the closet with a portable tv/radio, towel, blanket, extra dog leash, flashlight and candles. And I've scouted out the safest part of my apartment and the building in general.

25. I wish I had a basement
Seriously, that's pretty cool considering where you live.

When I was little, our neighbor would let our family share his basement during tornados. If you've got a basement you're lucky. Just stay clear of the pipes.
