Tommy Chong says he has sold bongs to Cheney's SS; * is on meth
SAN FRANCISCO -- Actor and comedian Tommy Chong entertained more than 500 National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws conference-goers Friday.

”If more people were stoned there would be less violence in the world,” Chong said.

Chong was introduced by NORML Executive Director Allen St. Pierre.

”It was Tom Chong the man that was wrongly sentenced to nine months in jail when everyone else paid a fine,” St. Pierre said. “I'm so proud and happy that Tommy is joining us today.”

Chong took the stage to a standing ovation.

”I would like to thank what's his name,” Chong joked.

He began by talking about his time in prison, saying the rumors about prison are wrong.

”It doesn't hurt,” Chong said. “But it does hurt when the government is doing it to you.”

He talked about politics, too.

”I know Dick Cheney's Secret Service guys smoke pot,” Chong said. “The reason I know that is I sold them bongs.”

He insinuated that President Bush was on methamphetamines.

1. I wish he could provide irrefutable proof about Bush and drugs, but I
guess if he could, he would have met with an "unfortunate accident" a long time ago.

8. He might not have the proof, but he can tell just by looking at him
that Bush is strung out.

My guess it that Bush is a speed freak by day. Probably double doses downers at night to get some sleep.

9. I loved this quote:
”The dangerous thing about tweakers is they can take things apart but they can't put them back together again,” Chong said. “That's what George Bush has done to this country.”

10. did you know marijuana cures seasickness?
maybe not the new improved high toxicity stuff that's going around nowaday (the result of being driven underground by the law btw) but the old stuff that was around 30 years ago-it was strong enough that i recall picking stoned flies off the car window, and resetting them on friend's heads etc....during the 2nd world war, hundreds of thousands of soldiers were shipped over the seas, and many got seasick especially in the winter. The 'man' knew that a bit of mild THC ingested in a tea or smoked could cure it, but....well what did they care about soldiers getting so sick many required hospitalization, and some actually died! Marijuana is illegal because 3 industries felt threatened by it: the alcohol/beer makers, the textile industry and the medical drug peddlars ie the phrarmaceutical firms. This was aggravated by rampant racism, as 'pot' was easily grown and therefore became a staple among the poor and the black. Basically, we can measure a politician's criminal leanings by hisher stand on the marijuana question. Anyone opposed to legalising pot is a crook, period.

11. You obviously were listening to the...
...acted and comedic portions of his speech; I sure didn't see any PROOF there.

14. "He insinuated that President Bush was methamphetamines" I can
believe that. I watched the campaign of Gov bush and he was totally animated, clearly agitated and on election night, sitting with his family, he appeared so calm. I think he was snorting something while on the campaign trail.
