How the Repubs propose to win....
Edited on Tue Apr-25-06 07:59 AM by newyawker99
The Repubs just love the phrase "They (meaning anybody left of Hitler) just don't get it!"
I don't think they don't get it.

Republicans need to commit to winning
BRUCE HAWKINS GUEST COLUMNIST

The Republican Party is in the proverbial pickle jar. President Bush is staying the course admirably, but it is clear many voters would choose a different one.

They want social programs rolled back, not increased through a prescription drug giveaway. They want illegal immigration stopped and borders controlled; they don't want amnesty, green card voting and a choice of Spanish or English at ATMs. They want to see the fruits of the war on terrorism, not $3 a gallon gasoline and nuclear threats. They want U.S. troops supported, not prosecuted for humiliating captured combatants.

The Republican Committee for America must address the core issues we face, be acted upon immediately and at least include the following:

2. Commitment to fair taxation. Promote a constitutional amendment to abolish the odious 16th, which authorizes the present income tax.

6. Commitment to our borders. Borders must be effectively secured. Violators must be punished with forfeiture of property and deportation. Such countries as Mexico encouraging illegal border crossing should be appropriately sanctioned.

7. Commitment to our electoral process. Require proof of citizenship for voter registration.

2. that tort reform always slays me
what average america wants tort reform?

only through incessant brainwashing does the average consumer want the government to artificially limit his right to sue a manufacturer for selling a product that causes him harm even when a trial finds that the manufacturer owes him more money.

4. No Republican plan would be complete
unless it called for a changing of the Constitution.
