12. Ok, that made me tear-up

Ian Rhett's song "I didn't know I was un-American" reminded me of when I was
with Peace Fresno, in conservative Fresno, Ca. before the war.

There was a group that would protest against us across the street. Every Friday we were yelled out. Sometimes people would park their car and come over and yell in our face. Usually it was the buffed guy in his tight shirt that got out of his shiny new truck. One day, we were surround by Conservative Jews that called us Jew Haters.. they were invited by the Freepers who protested us everyweek. It only took that one Friday for the majority of the Conservative Jews to realize they were being used by the Fundamentalist Freepers.

I think Ian's song was in my soul during those times.

I also especially like Pink's song. I makes me cry, just as much as Elvis's In the Ghetto song, and Marvin Gaye's song.

Thank you so much for this site, it is what I needed.

That the song most people know. But the original Operation Mindcrime was a groundbreaking concept album and well worth listening to. Empire was their first commercial success and a bit of a disappointment to fans in some respect. Light and fluffy in comparison to some of their earlier works.
