I seem to remember that you had a very useful post, but had not enough posts yet so you could start a thread (DU was limited to 50 posts or so because of all the freepers back then) and somebody made a post on your behalf. I don't know what it was about but it was one of the posts who made everybody happy. You and the guy from Cobb.

2100 people poll 51% women 49% men
Before fix say talk to 90% people already talk to
Say 100 women poll vote Kerry
After fix talk to all 2100 people
now show only 97 women vote Kerry

That to me is stupid
How can suddenly 3 less for Kerry
All sort of explanation
But why have sample size if not going to follow it
Why have % of women if not going to follow it

I first showed up on DU right after the election too. There were a bunch of self-proclaimed "experts" (I think they were paid trolls) who showed up on the election forum trying to argue that re-weighting of exit polls to match the official tally was "routine" and was done all the time. I was suspicious of that argument right away because it seemed to defeat the whole purpose of having exit polls at all!

That's a great way of putting it, though: Did three women who voted for Kerry suddenly NOT vote for Kerry? How did THAT happen? It cuts through the smokescreen very neatly.
