Montana Parents Battle 'Dirty Dancing' At School Prom
Principal Says Main Priority Is To Monitor For Drug, Alcohol Use

BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Some Montana parents are sick of the dirty dancing at Bozeman High School.

Dean and Melea Mortenson wrote the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, saying the dancing at the spring prom on April 8 was the equivalent of "sex with clothes on."

The Mortensons objected to a dance fad called the "bump and grind," and urged parents to speak out at Monday's meeting of the Bozeman School Board.

Bozeman High Principal Godfrey Saunders said the school discourages inappropriate dancing.

I'd tell my kid to avoid sex unless he wants STDs and the worry of getting a girl pregnant, but if he is too damn stupid to listen to me, then at the very least, have a damn condom.

It did piss me off when guys tried that crap. The dance floor isn't the place for it.

I grew up in the 70's when kids saved that for the back seat. :evilgrin:

but the kids better not do it! Is that fair? Of course not. But parents aren't supposed to be fair in all circumstances.

11. To add some younger perspective

I went to a prom the other day and was dancing with some girls in ways that probably fit these inappropriate descriptions. Some girls were trying to teach me to dance with something resembling rhythm and it's easier when you can feel how they are moving. I can assure you that we didn't engage in anything even close to sex afterwards.

is understood. You're saying you can be trusted and I'm sure you can be trusted. You need to understand that us oldsters who were also trusted by our parents invented this type dancing and in many cases did engage in sex afterwards given the opportunity.

So wait until you grow up and have a 14 year old daughter. I promise you your perspective will be totally different. Its very easy right now, as it was for us, to say "I'll trust my kids." Then you have a kid and it's "I'll be damned if that's gonna happen with my daughter!"

approach any couple whose bodies were in contact with one another and separate them . . . the line they invariably used was "Make room for the Holy Ghost" . . .

18. at my high school -- the dean of girls used to pick girls out

who wore all white -- she told them it reminded the boys of bedsheets -- and they should change.
